Product Description
Steel shot, produced by atomizing molten steel with a pressurized water jet, is also suitable for blasting hard materials such as cast iron and pig iron. In terms of internal structure it is divided into martensitic and bainitic types; it can be used in air and turbine-system blasting machines. When evaluated in terms of reuse it is more economical than other consumables — if there is no loss in the system it has a service life of up to 100 impacts.
The point to watch when using steel shot is corrosion caused by moisture sensitivity — steel shot sold in torn/holed bags rusts quickly, and the rust dust that accumulates on it causes rapid wear of turbine blades.
Usage by Industry:
| Industry | Size Used | Reason for Use |
|---|---|---|

Frequently Asked Questions
How many times can steel shot be reused?
If there is no loss in the system, it has a service life of up to 100 impacts, which makes it more economical than other consumables.
What sizes is steel shot sold in?
It is offered in 11 different size options, from S-70 to S-780.
Which blasting machines is steel shot used in?
Thanks to its martensitic internal structure, it can be used in both air and turbine blasting systems.
What should be considered when storing steel shot?
It must be protected against corrosion due to its moisture sensitivity; steel shot left in torn or holed packaging rusts quickly, and the resulting rust dust causes premature wear of turbine blades.
