Why Is Blasting Used in the Energy and Turbine Industry? Components such as turbine shafts, used in power plants and large rotating equipment manufacturing, push the limits of standard blasting machines in both size and weight. Surface preparation for these parts is a critical step in both new manufacturing and periodic maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) processes: homogeneous surface roughening before coating directly affects corrosion and fatigue resistance.

The SK 1510, developed by Saykar for this segment, is designed to safely accommodate and process turbine shafts up to 110 cm in diameter inside its cabin, thanks to a dedicated transport cart and multiple access points — a concrete example of how the energy sector's long-service, heavy-duty equipment requires a specialized engineering approach. An optional pressure-blast version, three times more powerful, is also available.
