Product Description
Aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) is an abrasive belonging to the electro-corundum group, produced by melting calcined bauxite (Brown) or clay (White) in electric arc furnaces. It is iron-free, hard, and extremely stable. It is also known in the market by names such as "corundum, alumina."
Brown Aluminum Oxide (NK): Produced from calcined bauxite, it is an economical and durable general-purpose abrasive.
White Aluminum Oxide (EK): Produced by melting clay, it has premium purity (Al2O3 >99.7%) and high hardness; it is preferred in high-tech applications such as medical, aerospace, and optics, with fine grain sizes down to 3 microns.
Pink Aluminum Oxide: Thanks to its chromium oxide (Cr2O3) content, it has both a hard and tough (durable) structure; it is used as a reusable abrasive and in the manufacture of coated/bonded abrasives (sandpaper). It complies with CSS12 (Rolls-Royce) approval, FEPA F/P, EN ISO 11126-7, DIN ISO 8486-1, MIL A-A-59316, ANSI B74-12, and JIS R6001 standards.
All 3 types are used in abrasive products such as grinding wheels, blasting media, and sandpaper; they can be applied in pressure blasting and injection blasting equipment.
