Stainless Steel Shot Blasting Consumable
A high-durability abrasive produced by atomizing molten stainless steel with a pressurized water jet, which hardens with use and is used for blasting stainless steel and aluminum surfaces.
- Can be used in all blasting systems (turbine-type and pressure-type)
- Does not generate dust during blasting — long-lasting and economical when used without loss
- Ductile internal structure that hardens with use — shows its highest performance after 20 impacts
- Ferritic crystal structure, high magnetism and electrical conductivity
Product Description
Stainless steel sphere, or stainless steel shot, is produced by atomizing molten stainless steel with a pressurized water jet. It is used for blasting stainless steel and aluminum materials; it has very high durability and generates no dust at all during blasting. It is economical since it is long-lasting when there is no loss in the system.
Another characteristic is that it hardens with use: as these materials, which have a ductile internal structure, strike the surface during blasting, their internal structure compacts and their hardness increases; therefore stainless steel shot shows its highest performance after 20 impacts.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does stainless steel shot harden with use?
Its ductile ferritic internal structure hardens under impact; hardness that is 19 HRC in the new product rises to 49 HRC with use, and it shows its highest performance after approximately 20 impacts.
In which machines can stainless steel shot be used?
It can be used in all blasting systems, both turbine-type and pressure-type.
Which surfaces is stainless steel shot suitable for?
Since it leaves no corrosive effect, it is preferred for blasting stainless steel and aluminum surfaces; it does not generate dust during blasting.
